"I appreciate the importance of understanding each individual musician's playing style and requirements. I have a very serious commitment to my craft and truly enjoy what I do."

I started playing guitar as a teenager in the early 80's and became fascinated with the guitar's capabilities and how all it's parts mechanically function as a whole. I would read guitar repair columns in monthly magazines such as "Guitar for the Practicing Musician" and "Guitar Player" and of course took my own guitars apart to perform those repairs and modifications. In later years I would always have a "Qualified Pro" do the more intricate work on my guitars, but it was never quite to my standards. After high school I graduated from the Musicians Institute - College of Contemporary Music in Hollywood, CA in 1987. Months after returning to NJ I met master luthier Tom Doyle who had re-fretted one of my guitars at his shop in Washington Township, NJ. After inquiring I had the great honor of learning fretwork from Tom who had also done work for famous guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Sting, George Benson, Vic Juris and his good friend and innovator, Les Paul. Another great mentor whose books I've studied very intently is world renowned luthier, Dan Erlewine. The knowledge of these two greats was a winning combination that enhanced my propensity toward lutherie; repairing, customizing and building guitars and basses.

"I take great pride in my work and reputation. My best form of advertisement is, and always will be my satisfied customers. No job is ever rushed. The attention to detail surpasses most and is inferior to none. At D'Angelo Guitars you will always receive quality, honest service... It's a promise."
